St. James Cathedral

One of the symbols of Šibenik – the beautiful cathedral of St. Jacob, whose uniqueness, and the complexity of its architecture, has been given a deserved place on the UNESCO list of World heritage sites in the year 2000. It’s the only cathedral in the whole of Europe built exclusively out of stone, without the use of mortar or ancient constructive materials.

Šibenik Fortifications

Šibenik region is a treasure trove of historic sites, with more than 15 stone fortifications and forts there is much to see and experience. Four well preserved historic forts are in Šibenik city area, forts of St. Mihovil, St. Ivan, Šubićevac and a unique fortification complex on Adriatic sea - St. Nicholas fortress located on small island Ljuljevac in front of Šibenik bay.
