Artists (instructors & performers) are our mentors. We choose to attend certain workshop because we admire the artist’s personal interpretation and the particularity he brings to the table. All of them are very good performers and teachers, but some of them are great. We tried to bring you the finest blend of carefully selected international artists that, in our humble opinion, represent what the essence of salsa dance is… Or what it could be… Or what it should be.
1. Great teachers
When we thought of artists that will inspire the dancers the most, the first criteria we set was that they have to be great teachers. What good is a great artist if he or she does not know how to properly and most appropriately deliver the knowledge or a skill to the students themselves. When workshop begins all that counts is the teaching methodology artist developed from years of experience of working with people. And that’s what we wanted: Great teachers.
2. Great performers
Second principle that narrowed it down was that artist has to be a great performer as well. We are not fond of know-it-alls who don’t take our breath away when they enter the stage, because after all – the performance and that roar of applause at the end is all what separates good artists from the great. We wanted great.
3. Great social dancers
The last criteria was that artist has to be a good social dancer. It was not a demand, but more of a wish. Salsa is a social dance and we all dance it because it is social. We are not performers… We just like to dance and have fun. Hope you do too. We dance for the love of the dance and not for the spotlight or a bow at the end. And we believe that everyone should too. And this is why we are subjectively more inclined to those artists that dance with other dancers at the parties. Artists that take time and devote themselves to the dancers are the one took our cake at the end.
