Why Solaris?
When we were searching for the festival location we did not have Šibenik in mind (don’t know why, it somehow slipped under our radar) – and then someone said “let’s do it in Solaris” – we went there and fell in love at the first glance. As we browsed around the Solaris Beach Resort the love grew… And grew… And grew. And it still grows today.
Solaris Beach Resort is drop-dead gorgeous! The beach is meticulously groomed; grass is carefully trimmed to the ideal 9.5cm, it is packed with restaurants, pools, bars, sun shades, and practically everything your summer heart can desire. Pictures just don’t it justice. Yeah, they are nice but when you are there it’s just completely different experience.

Solaris Hotel Resort is located in central Dalmatia, region of Croatia best known for national parks, pristine nature, historic Mediterranean cities, warm people and fine cuisine. Resort is just 6km from the Šibenik city center, regular excursions are available to visit UNESCO world heritage sites all in 50-70km range. Location
Solaris Beach Resort is located in the heart of Dalmatia (that’s the name of the most beautiful part of Croatian coast that – conveniently – has a gorgeous climate) – (and yes, the Dalmatian dog is named by Dalmatia). Anyway, Croatia is beautiful, but the Mediterranean coast is by far the best part of it – and the most beautiful part of that coast is called Dalmatia – and in the center of that beauty – lies Solaris Beach Resort – so go figure.

The Beach

Walking distance
Having an opportunity to organize a salsa festival in such gorgeous place, we have managed to place all festival activities within a walking distance so you can throw yourself in the crystal clear sea at 13:57 and make it to the workshop starting at 14:00. Literally. We measured. Not everyone made it, but the faster ones did.
SALSA ADVICE: To be sure to arrive to the workshops on time please throw yourself in the crystal clear sea not less than 5 minutes before the workshop starts. Thank you for the understanding.
Hot Spot
On our first visit to the Solaris Beach Resort an old sunken pirate ship caught a considerable amount of our attention. With its remarkable position just 10 meters from the main sand beach, 5 meters from the water slide, 1 meter from the pool and 0 meters from the cocktail bar – the pirate ship sailed into our hearts swiftly and incurably. That fatal stroke of Cupid’s arrow is the one responsible of the Hot Spot idea. Check the Hot Spot idea at this page – you’ll love it.

Just chill out in the pirate ship bar in the belly of the ship, go to the 1st deck and soak up the sun, throw yourself in the pool with a refreshing splash, dance, grab a snack, chat with your friends, meet other salseros, and enjoy your ass off. |
Hot Spot is a place on the beach where music and dancing never stops! All day long! Imagine a place where all dancers can come between workshops or at any time of day where they can listen to the salsa music, dance, just lie in the warm sun, swim in the sea or have fun in the pool. All in one place, all day long. Hot Spot is heart of the Salsa Beach Splash Festival. So, do roam around, visit the city and browse other locations and everything – but come back to the Hot Spot.
